Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole

Mama has an easy cheesy chicken and rice casserole that your whole family is gonna love!

This is one of those recipes that I like to call a "dump" recipe. You just throw it all together and in about an hour you have a wonderful dinner that your family will think you slaved over for hours.

cheesy chicken and rice casserole

Here’s what you’ll need:

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of celery soup
1 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup of milk
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of onion powder
2 cups of frozen broccoli florets or any other frozen vegetables
3/4 cup of white rice, uncooked
seasoning salt
3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Here’s what you need to do:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, sour cream and milk. Mix well.

Add the pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, frozen vegetables and uncooked rice. Mix well.

Pour into 3 quart casserole dish.

Top with the boneless, skinless chicken breast, sprinkle with seasoning salt.

Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.

Cover and bake at 375 degrees F for 1 hour or until rice is done. Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving this cheesy chicken casserole.
