homemade spaghetti sauce

I plan to make your homemade spaghetti sauce and to cook it for 2 1/2 hours. I have a gas stove should it be cooked on low heat like one or two? Or higher?

Thank you for your time.
Julie

Hey there Julie

You just want it to simmer slowly. I don't know what temperature one or two is on your stove since different gas stoves have different BTU's...for example, my gas stove has 5 burners and each burner has a different BTU so they all heat to different temperatures. What you want is a slow simmer. A slow simmer is when a few bubbles rise to the surface occasionally during cooking so the one or two setting should be plenty unless it is a burner with a very low BTU rating. Set it on one or two, cover and check it occasionally to make sure it is simmering. You will also want to stir it occasionally so that it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot and burn.

I'd love to hear how you like the recipe!
