How To Make Cornbread

Gather up 4 ingredients and come on into the kitchen and Mama will show you how to make cornbread that's moist and delicious.

2 cups of self-rising cornmeal
1/3 cup of vegetable oil (or bacon grease if you have it)
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup of milk

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl until well blended. Pour into a greased 9-inch cast iron skillet (if you don't have one, you can use a glass pie pan).

Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes.

If you like your cornbread sweet, add 2/3 cup of white sugar to the batter.
