Chocolate Mayonaise Cake

My Mama used to make this mayonaise cake all the time when I was growing up. She would frost it with peanut butter icing. That and a big 'ol glass of cold milk and you'd think you were in heaven!

mayonaise cake

Now before you start saying yuk, hear me out. This is quite possibly the best choclate cake recipe you'll ever try. It makes the most moist cake you've ever put your lips around!

Dry Ingredients:

2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup of Sugar
2 teaspoons of baking soda
1/2 cup of unsweetened Cocoa Powder

Wet Ingredients:

1 Cup of Mayonaise
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease and flour a 9 x 13 glass baking dish. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients. Make a well in the center and add all of the wet ingredients. Mix well with a wire whisk until the batter is smooth.

Pour into the 9 x 13 baking dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Check by inserting a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If not, bake another 5 to 10 minutes or until done.

Frost with Whipped Peanut Butter Icing or your favorite Chocolate Cake Icing.

I'm sure once you try this chocolate cake recipe, you'll never use another recipe for chocolate cake!
