Recipe For BBQ Sauce

Mama has a finger lickin' recipe for BBQ sauce that everyone's gonna love!

This recipe is so easy to make and tastes very similar to KC Masterpiece. You can always adjust the seasonings to your liking or use this recipe for a base and add your own twist to it!

bbq sauce

Here's how to make BBQ sauce the way Mama does:

2 cups water
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup tomato paste
3 teaspoons molasses
3 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/4 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 tablespoon paprika

In a medium saucepan over medium high heat, combine all of the ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about an hour until mixture begins to thicken.

Cool and store in a covered container in the refrigerator overnight.

This Kansas City BBQ sauce is great for ribs, chicken or brisket.

Once you have homemade BBQ sauce, you won't want the stuff in the bottle anymore!
