Recipe for Veggie Burgers

This recipe for veggie burgers is not only good for you but tastes great too!

There's only 165 calories and 3 grams of fat per burger so if you are trying to cut down on fat and calories, this is the burger recipe you've been looking for!

Here's what you'll need:

1 (16-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 green bell pepper, cut into 4 pieces
1/2 onion, cut into 4 pieces
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoons of chili powder
1 teaspoon of cumin
2 teaspoons of McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning
1 teaspoon of hot sauce
3/4 cup of bread crumbs

Here's what you need to do:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Drain and rinse the black beans. Set aside.

Using a food processor (if you don't have a food processor, a blender should work), finely chop the bell pepper and onion.

Scrape down the sides of the processor with a rubber spatula.

Add the black beans to the food processor.

Continue processing until it looks like mush.

Pour into a medium size bowl.

Add the garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, steak seasoning, hot sauce, bread crumbs and eggs.

Mix well.

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spray well wtih a non-stick cooking spray.

Divide your mixture into 6 equal parts.

Drop each of the six parts onto the baking sheet. Spray your hands with cooking spray or Olive Oil and pat each part into a round patty.

Bake for 10 minutes in a preheated 375 degree F. oven. Turn each patty and continue baking another 10 minutes.

Remove from oven and enjoy!
