we all ways made the gravy with 1/4 cup oil left over from bacon and 1/4 cup flower and with the bacon grease hot (med) heat add the flower till it is a past and brown just a little then add 1.5 cups milk mixed with 1.5 cups water and with large spoon stirring bring to boil rubbing spoon on bottom of pan to brake up any lumps then drop heat back to simmer till thicken add salt and pepper to your taste
but i am so going to try it your way this weekend
