I planned to make biscuits and gravy and wanted to make them from scratch. This was the best biscuit recipe I ever used and I didn't even have self rising flour or buttermilk. Great tip on not twisting the biscuits when cutting. I couldn't understand why my biscuits hardly rose and were tough before. I also think other recipes called for less milk which made my biscuits hard. I used chicken chorizo sausage for the gravy and it was okay, the sausage tasted much better in the gravy than just eating them plain. I have saved this site to my favorites...Thank you Thank you!! My husband was like - are these homemade.... He saw me typing in your blog, so I guess I had to tell him I know how to follow directions.
