Mama's Broccoli Rice Casserole



This is not just a holiday favorite, you can serve this creamy broccoli rice casserole any day of the week.



You can add some cooked chicken or turkey to this casserole and you've got a complete meal that no one is going to complain about!

Here's what you are going to need:


1 (14-ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli
1 can (10 3/4 ounce) broccoli cheese soup
1 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cup milk
1 (8-ounce) package shredded Colby-jack cheese
1 cup uncooked white rice
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Here's what you need to do:


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.


In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Pour into a greased 2 1/2 quart casserole. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.


** For a complete meal, add 2 cups of cooked chicken to the casserole before baking.
