I liked it
I was in a hurry so I substituted the biscuits with Pillsbury can biscuits. It would have been way better with homemade biscuits. I also added a pinch of sugar. I heard once from the owner of a oldfasion cafe known for their biscuits and gravy that, "it's what gives it that delicious taste". I've added it to every biscuits and gravy recipe I have made exception of one and she was right, it is.
